His Eminence Eze Dr Eberechukwu Oji, Eze Aro has prayed for the sustenance and progress of the Intercontinental Distillers Ltd, producer and marketer of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in Nigeria.
Eze Aro made the prayer during the monthly meeting of the Eze Aro in-Council at Oror, when the company paid a Royal visit to the King.
Before he prayed for the company, Dr Eberechukwu Oji had educated them on the foundation of Arochukwu Kingdom.
“We appreciate the thought of your company to come for us and once we pray for you, you can be sure our blessing is over your company”, he assured representatives of international.
“This place is the head of Igbo land. In those ancient times, the god that we worship is the god that created heaven and earth; the god that cannot be seen.
“So our name – Arochukwu – that Chukwu that Christian Missionaries adopted. It is ancestral and by God’s grace, the stool I am sitting on is the stool of that God that created heaven and earth.”
Eze Aro then offered prayers to the Almighty God to bless the IDL company; bless what they brought, declaring that “it will be well with the company; the company will prosper; negative forces will not see them; they will not experience obstacles in their operations. Those who seek the downfall of the company will fail.
“Since they said they seek Royal prayers, we pray the real prayer; prayer for love to ensure their company prospers.”
Eze Aro wished the delegation of the company well, praying that the company will not incur losses “so that any other time, from time to time, they will come and see Eze Aro, greet Eze Aro and take blessings from him”.
Earlier, Mr Christopher Akhereiwo, the Regional Manager (East) of Intercontinental Distillers Ltd and leader of the delegation to Eze Aro, while introducing the company and its products to Eze Aro, said: “I bring greetings from the Managing Director and the entire management team of Intercontinental Distillers Ltd.
“The reason we are here today is to officially, in your capacity as the Eze Aro of Arochukwu, present to you, Eagle Aromatic Schnapps, also known as the “official prayer drink. This symbolizes blessing in your kingdom, blessing to Abia State, blessing to Nigeria and blessing to our company – Intercontinental Distillers Ltd.
“We want to plead with you, Sir, to use this drink to pray for us and your Council, for the success and well-being, good health of your subjects and country at large.”
Besides the prayer IDL sought from Eze Aro and Umu Aro who were gathered, the delegation also appealed that Eagle Aromatic Schnapps be adopted by Arochukwu Kingdom as its “official prayer drink”.
Highlights of the presentation ceremony was the distribution of the company’s products and other gifts to Ndi Ezeogo and other individuals there present.
